Velvet Basemera-Fitzpatrick is the founder of Blue Foresight, L.L.C., an independent practice specializing in risk mitigation via institutional stakeholder engagement for global businesses driving change through impact and innovation. She comes from the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C., a critical asset in the U.S. innovation ecosystem. Velvet is a European Union Visitors Program Fellow and Loyal VC Advisor.
During her INSEAD Global Executive MBA, Velvet used her experience leading seed programs to investigate barriers to private capital deployment in innovation ecosystems for emerging markets. She traveled to hubs across EMEA and SEA, gaining on-the-ground insights that led to the concepts for her practice.
